Ullapool FC vs. Dingwall

Ullapool FC secured their first win of the U17 season on a beautiful Sunday in Ullapool.

The first half started off fairly even but Ullapool FC started to find their feet and had a few chances from distance that were narrowly wide. However, against the run of play Dingwall opened the scoring with a good finish. Just before the half time whistle Dingwall managed to grab themselves another to give Ullapool a bit of hole to get themselves out of.

The second half began in a similar fashion to the first with Ullapool getting a couple of chances but not finding the back of the net. Their luck changed when Louis Sears was brought down in the box. Louis stepped up and calmly placed it into the bottom corner. This comes after a lengthy period out due to an injury! With the wind in their sails, Ullapool’s confidence was growing. Ullapool finally managed to equalise when a corner was whipped in and dropped in the box to Shaun Marshall who smashed the ball on a half volley into the top corner. The momentum was on Ullapool’s side and with 15 minutes to go the pressure paid off. Some nice play in the middle ended with the ball being out on the left with Shaun. Shaun cut in from the left wing and curled the ball beautifully into the right hand side of the goal to complete the comeback. Some excellent defending from the back four and crucial saves from Hector Couper meant that Ullapool FC sealed the win.
